Arctic Fishing
The archipelago of islands in Northern Norway gives excellent
fishing possibilities of great advantage due to sheltered locations.
Even when strong winds blow in from the Atlantic Ocean, you can
almost always find sheltered places to fish. The peaked mountains
and deep fjords are the frame of your fishing experience of the
lifetime. Not many places in the world you can catch huge cod today.
If the weather situation is suitable, we at Arcticvoyager recommend
a fishing tour out on the open ocean.
In the more sheltered areas close to the coast at a death of 30-70
m you find the underwater plateaus, with shoals of fish coming in
to feed - even whales like Harbour porpoises, White beaked dolphins
and Killer Whales come to these spots to hunt for food. Further
out and the plateau plunges to more deeper waters down to 300-500m.
This is the place for the deepwater cod locally called Skrei, on
the hunt for herring and other smaller fish. In these waters there
are also change for other fishes like wolf fish, to strike fiercely
or the big halibut for you to challenge.
With our yacht M/Y Tromsyacht the possibilities are many, and you
can adapt your fishing technique for certain species. Cod, coalfish,
haddock, wolf fish, pollack and catching the huge halibut could
really make your day. Call us and tell us about your fishing dreams
and we will fulfil your request.
