Whale watching

Among our whale and marine mammal sightings are the Sperm whale, Humpback Whale, Finback Whale, Minke Whale, Killer whales, as well as dolphins, porpoises and seals.

We are starting our new season with whale watching operation for 2005. Our successes with faster ships will give us excellent possibility to investigate the deep sea outside Tromsø. The area at the continental shelf is a step submarine cliff close to the main land. This submarine cliff is the main migratory route for several whale species passing by from mid May swimming north and until September on there return south. The area it self is one of the best places in the world for spotting the Sperm whales. An increasing numbres of Humbacked whales have also been spotted the last 5 years.
